Underground Mine Water Upgrade Project

The 1900 Rising Main project involved a complete upgrade of the underground water system. CONWIK Scope of work included engineering and design, procurement & installation.

Works included but were not limited to:

• Supply & installation of pipework – DN315 PN10/SDR17 HDPE pipeline (1900 rising main)

• Supply & installation of pipework – DN160 PN10/SDR17 HDPE pipeline (V40 to Contaminated Water Treatment Plant [CWTP])

• Engineering, design & construction – in-line pig launching station

• Engineering, design & construction – 4 x 24,000L HDPE tanks, buried services, above ground services (decant return water surge tank system)

• Supply & installation of manual valves & hydraulic ball float valves

• Installation of in-line 3 x flowmeters (DN315, DN160 & DN110)

• Modifications to Decant Return Pipeline – installation of DN160x110 reducing tee with 4” Bray knife gate valve (manually/handwheel actuated)
